Starting Point

Crew Network had an established business, big plans for future growth, and a prototype membership website, but needed a bigger design and development team to help them take it further. Starbit were chosen due to their experience with highly complex membership systems and familiarity with WordPress, upon which the original website was based. Starbit initially took on hosting and support, and were tasked with solving some outstanding problems and finalising some unfinished functionality.

Solution

After working on the prototype site, it became clear that the scale and ambition Crew Network had for their system would only be realised if it was completely redesigned and redeveloped from the ground up. The complexity was mapped out, with every single detail documented - including user flow diagrams which defined the multitude of interactions occurring between users on 3 different sides (crew, clients, and agent). From this mapping exercise, wireframes were produced to ensure the user journeys worked in practice. Starbit then refined the user interface, with a full custom design for the front-end and dashboard. The new site, built in Laravel, has now superceded the original prototype, with all user data optimised and seamlessly migrated. Crew can now manage their profiles, portfolios, and availability for bookings on any device from wherever they are.
