Blanca is our latest recruit on the design side. She is a recent high-flying graphic design graduate from Edinburgh College, having received various awards and special commendations for her work, including in the DMA New Talent Awards. Her studies focused on interaction design for the web, a subject she was keen to explore as a natural evolution of her previous experience in design for print. Her journey into the world of design has been via the unusual, but not altogether illogical, route of physiotherapy - an understanding of the structure and workings of the human body being excellent background knowledge for an interaction designer.

Blanca comes from Avila, one of the mountainous, cold, and beautiful regions surrounding Madrid in central Spain. Her unique design style is drawn from a mix of Spanish and Scottish influences, with a love of the outdoors also feeding her inspiration. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, climbing and snowboarding, with only her love of live music and alternative cinema encouraging her inside. Blanca’s favourite food of the moment is a macaroni pie (all the good things in one place) and her friends tell her she has a huggable head (we’ve yet to discover why it is only her head).
