Starbit, the universally digital agency

Carine is responsible for day-to-day operations at Starbit, with a focus on the development side. She is an experienced full-stack developer and project manager, having worked for several years, both as a freelancer and for various web agencies across France, before joining Starbit in 2015. Her interest in technology, and the web in particular, started at a young age, with her first website going live before she even started high school. 

Carine was born and raised in the mountainous region around Grenoble. Here she gained a diploma in multimedia before moving to Scotland, where she was awarded a BSc in Computing with distinction from Edinburgh Napier University. Being both curious and ambitious, Carine has continued her academic studies while working for Starbit, undertaking professional courses on user experience and digital project management. She never rests on her laurels and is constantly seeking new and improved ways of working. In this respect, she has acted as both catalyst and leader for some transformational new business processes at Starbit. Furthermore, she has a natural talent for teaching and has nurtured some fine developers over the years, including three interns who joined us from French universities between 2016 and 2018. 

Carine leads a committed vegan way of life, part of which is motivated by her sincere love of animals, especially cats. She is also quite fond of plants and organises the Leith Plant Swap - a wildly successful series of regular free events in the local area, bringing together a diverse community of people to share skills, knowledge, and resources around both indoor and outdoor growing.
